While I was a child I always dreamt of flying an aircraft, I always wanted to be a pilot. I qualified class X with good marks and took up science at Scottish church College. Those days science used to be a prerequisite for becoming a pilot. However, the cost involved to get a commercial pilot license was humongous which obviously I could not afford. Wasn’t sure what was I supposed to do. In Scottish I came across some friends who were slogging hard for an exam which one of my very close aunts had qualified and was then currently settled in US. This exam was called IITJEE.
Seeing my friends I too started working towards IITJEE. The graduates of these institutes were in demand, regularly made to the headlines and this particular form of education was not so expensive. Once the goal was set I needed some one who could guide me through the tortuous path to achieve the goal.
It literally was a hunt for me and my family to figure out whom should I go to. Every person I met had his own perspective and his own suggestion on where should I go. However luckily for me, I came across Mr. Malaya Khandelwal. a B.Tech from IIT Madras and a MS from Carnegie Melon, I immediately knew my hunt was over. I joined his classes after which it was a smooth ride to the portals of IIT.
Apart from the excellent teaching guidance which I got from him, I also got enough motivation from him, which I think makes the final difference; to get into IIT’s or not getting into IIT’s. If you keep faith and follow his words diligently I think the tortuous path to IIT’s would get highly simplified.

Best of Luck to all the aspiring Engineers in the making!

I worked with ITC in the areas of wind energy, solid waste recycling, operations management and Financial planning. The journey at ITC was exciting but I thought I needed to gain more business skills and hence I decided to join Indian School of Business. I graduated with a Dean’s List and post ISB I am eager to start a venture !!
